Miley Cyrus Biography
Born to country singer-actor Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife Leticia "Tish" Cyrus, she was given the name Destiny Hope Cyrus upon her parents' thought that she would accomplish great things in life. Frequently smiles as a youngster she then obtained the nickname of "Miley," which was directed from the word "smiley." And so, people began to notice the young, beautiful, and talented star simply as Miley Cyrus. She would later on changed her birth name to Miley Ray Cyrus in honor of her father. Born in Franklin, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville, on November 23, 1992, the girl was raised on her parents' farm in the backwoods of Nashville. She initially attended Heritage Middle School before then had a private tutor. She has a younger brother, Braison, and a younger sister, Noah Lindsey Cyrus, who is also an actress, in addition to two older half-brothers, Christopher Cody and Trace, and an older half-sister named Brandi.
Finding herself interested in acting at mere age of nine, Miley had her acting debut in an episode of her father's television series "Doc" in 2003, playing the guest role of a girl named Kylie. The same year she landed a small role in Tim Burton's film direction "Big Fish" in which she played the Young Ruthie. Developing an interest in music prior to her acting career, Miley who began writing songs and learning to sing while still a preteen, got a chance to explore her music skills as she was tapped to be featured in Rhonda Vincent's music video for "If Heartaches Have Wings" and to appear on "Colgate Country Showdown," a TV program which her father was hosting. It was not until she was cast in the title role of the Disney Channel's original series, "Hannah Montana" (2006), that she gained her nation wide popularity for playing a teenage girl leading a double life. She was 12 when she came to the audition of the TV series. Beside landing her eyes on the titular character, Miley also aimed for the best friends role but because she was deemed too small by the executives, she failed the first round. Nevertheless, the execs changed their mind and cast the girl who "loves every minute of her life" as Hannah Montana.
In the TV show she plays Miley Stewart, an average teenage girl dealing with school, friends, siblings, and all the other peculiarity of life for a 14-years-old and all at once as Hannah Montana, a multi-platinum pop star whose career is guided by her successful songwriter father Robby Stewart who has to keep her "double faces" secret from the public other than her close friends and family. Debuted on Disney Channel on March 24, 2006, the children's TV series quickly became an immediate success among viewers and was soon followed with the release of a soundtrack CD, "Hannah Montana," on October 24 via Walt Disney Records. The set featured Miley as Hannah Montana, singing eight songs from the show along with five related tracks, including a duet with her father Billy Ray on "I Learned from You" which appeared the last on the album. The compilation was another success, chosen the eighth best selling album of the year in the U.S., with nearly 2 million copies sold and approximately 3.2 million copies sold worldwide.
Meanwhile, the actress-singer spent the rest of the year serving as the opening act for the girl group The Cheetah Girls on 20 dates of their 39-cities tour. In March the following year, "Hannah Montana" was reissued in a special edition featuring a bonus DVD, not long after the show's theme song, "The Best of Both Worlds," was released as a single. Miley had her first LP, a double album titled "Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus," hit the market on June 26, 2007. Debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 326,000 copies sold during its first week of sales, the set has sold about 1.5 million copies worldwide by mid year and thus was certified Platinum for sales of 1.5 million copies. In the peak of her career, scandal hits when racy pictures of her leaked out on the Internet. As a role model for teens, Miley was criticized for setting a bad example. This would be put on scrutiny more when she posed for Vanity Fair half-naked although she apologized later on.
Due to the enormous success, Miley was granted the title of the 59th "Most Influential People" list made and released by Time magazine in May 2008 as well as the #35 "2008 Forbes Celebrity 100" with an estimated earnings of $25 million during June 2007 to June 2008. Her wax figure on Madame Tussauds was also unveiled in March 2008. Miley's career was in the making. A plan on big screen version of Hannah Montana was quickly developed and Miley, reprising her role will star in "Hannah Montana: The Movie" which is due for a May 1, 2009 release. Before the movie project came to public, Miley will release a second studio album called "Breakout" which first single "7 Things" has made an impressive chart performance. A song about an attack to her ex, it entered at #84 on Billboard Hot 100 before climbing up to #10 in its third week. "Breakout" is due to be released on July 22, 2008.

Plies Biography
He never dreamed of stepping out beyond what he got and he never even realized his capability. Plies, a rapper from Fort Myers, Florida helped people reaching their success in music but initially didn't know that his talent was what the industry have been dying for. Debut album 'The Real Testament' was sold more than 96,000 units in the first week of its release, dethroning Common from his comfortable seat at #2 in Billboard Hot 200. Few weeks prior to that, his first single 'Shawty' featuring T-Pain peaked at #10 in Billboard Singles Chart, earning him a reputation hard to compete. Next he will release a new single called 'Hypnotized' that receives the production of the unquestionable Akon and the singer slash producer's guest feature.
Plies was born Algernod Lanier Washington on July 1, 1976. The rapper derived the stage name Plies from hometown Fort Myers that calls most money-making drug dealers by the slank. He grew up in the small stateside of East Dunbar and as soon as graduating from Fort Myers High School in 1994, Plies pursued his passion in music. He became interested in rap and joined his older brother Ronell Levatte to run Big Gates Record,
an indie label which was home to three artists excluding himself. Twist of fate came when Plies shot the lyrics of 'Tell Dem Krackers Dat' after the original artist couldn't get the 'hook'. His brother told him to hold on behind the mic and his version finally was molded into a mixtape. "It wasn't a dream of mine," Plies explained. "It kind of happened accidentally. But at the same time, I'm a believer that nothing happens on accident."
Thus, his path in music enterprise was opened wide. After hearing 'Tell Dem Krackers Dat', Slip N' Slide Records took and guided him under their wing to release first single 'Got 'Em Hatin''. It was a street and club favorite that made his reputation meter rose amazingly high. In early 2006 he became acquainted with Akon who at that time was also working on his album 'Konvicted'. Together they recorded a song called 'I Wanna Fuck You' which Plies wrote himself. However, Plies was involved in a shooting incident in July 2006 that cost him the song.
The then rising rapper was performing a concert in Gainesville, Florida when organizers informed that his leg will be cut 15 minutes short to give time space for Lil Boosie. Hearing the news, his two entourage released fire to the crowd and injured five people but to no serious damage. Police the processed the case and charged his two people with attempted murder and illegal gun possession. Plies were released on a $10,000 bail but more problems waited at home. Due to his slightly-damaged reputation, it was decided that the featuring artist of 'I Wanna Fuck You' will be Snoop Dogg who had circulated his version on an unofficial mixtape. Plies' name was even eliminated from the credit and the title was changed to 'I Wanna Love You' to hinder any misconception. Ironically, the song peaked at #1 in Billboard Hot 100 without physical CD release or promotional video.
"I've got the problems that come with being successful, but I ain't got real problems," Plies once said. "There's some dude in the world that just got a life sentence today. That's a real problem. I make reality music. I don't make music that's out of touch. There's so much in the world that I can talk about that'll help people through their struggles." With that, Plies was back in the studio to continue working on
his solo effort. On August 7, 2007 'The Real Testament' was released with 'Got 'Em Hatin'' made as the bonus track.

Jonas Brothers Biogrpahy
Within a year Jonas Brothers have successfully raised their reputation to be one of musicians worth acknowledged. If their first effort 'It's About Time' (2006) only managed to peak at #91, their self-titled sophomore album went straight to #5 in Billboard Hot 200 chart. In the first week of its release, the album was sold 69,000 copies, beating various artists' soundtrack of 'Hairspray' by hundreds. A review in USA Today read, "They've got fizzy harmonies, punchy power chords and sugary choruses that bounce off the walls." Prior and post the album's release, the trio have sold out tickets of their shows, graced covers of teen magazines and been signed for special appearances. As young icons, they have been booked to make a cameo in Disney Channel's 'Hannah Montana' TV series on August 17 where they will perform a duet with the main star Miley Cyrus. The brothers also jumped on their first major tour as the supporting act of Cyrus on that fall starting from October 18 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Unlike Hanson or other teen bands where the siblings have been bond as a group, Jonas Brothers did not start as a band but a solo. It started with
a single project of youngest brother Nicholas Jerry Jonas who was born September 16, 1992. He was spotted by Columbia Records that immediately also noticed the talent of his two older brothers Joseph Adam Jonas (born August 15, 1989) and Paul Kevin Jonas II (born November 5, 1987). The three of them started performing as a trio called Sons of Jonas before eventually landing the more commercial name, Jonas Brothers. All this while their father would book them gigs and give finance to reach their dream.
Their first Columbia album 'It's About Time' was released on August 8, 2006 and its first single 'Mandy' quickly gained success although still mild. 'Mandy' music video was placed at #4 in MTV's TRL, a considerably good start for a young newcomer. Meanwhile in Disney's radio, 'Mandy' and another track 'Year 3000' were very well received that they both topped the chart along with other off album singles that they recorded such as 'Kids of the Future', and 'Poor Unfortunate Souls'. Despite all the attainment, the debut album failed to reach wide success and only peaked at #91 in the Billboard Albums chart. The brothers were soon dropped from Columbia.
All the band needed then was a new label, different approach in music and determination. Not long after being 'label-less', they were signed to Hollywood Records where they began the work of second album immediately. "When we signed to Hollywood," Kevin recalled, "we told the label, 'Hey, we have some demos of songs we've been writing for the past year and a half.' We thought it'd be so funny to just record those songs for the album to see what we could get away with. But those turned out to be the songs on the record!" 'Jonas Brothers' was released on August 7, 2007 after two singles 'Hold On' and 'SOS' were released to successful chart performance. First single 'Hold On' peaked at #70 followed by 'SOS' that debuted at #65.
Like most teen heartthrobs, the band that come from Wyckoff, New Jersey, also made occasional TV appearances. In 2007, the pilot to a new fictional television series titled J.O.N.A.S! featuring the trio as a group of government hired spies was shot. Its release date on Disney Channel is expected in 2008.

Lil Wayne Biography
The newest addition to the many 'Lil's' in the hip hop music industry, Lil Wayne, is a force to be reckoned with. His debut album, 'Tha Block is Hot' (1999) went double platinum upon its release and even his lowest selling album is still certified as gold upon the album release by Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Despite his success in the music industry, Lil Wayne's childhood experiences, like many other rap and hip hop singers, were far from perfect.
Born as Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. on September 27, 1982 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Dwayne Michael Turner and Jacinda Carter, who was then 19 years old, Lil Wayne was forced to bid goodbye to his father who abandoned him and his mother right after he was born. During that time, he and his mother were forced to survive by themselves in the criminal-infested community at Hollygrove division of New Orleans. Fortunate enough, soon afterwards, his mother met Reginald "Rabbit" McDonald, who eventually became his stepfather. Years later, his stepfather moved the family out from the poverty-stricken Hollygrove to East New Orleans. By that time, Lil Wayne had begun to develop his interest in hip hop and rap music. Influenced
by Cash Money Recording artists like Pimp Daddy and U.N.L.V., he began rapping at block parties. His performance at one of the parties caught the attention of Lil Slim, a Cash Money rapper. Through the latter recording artist, Lil Wayne met the Cash Money Records moguls, Brian "Baby" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams. Though his free styling talent left strong impressions on the two tycoons, Lil Wayne did not get a contract with Cash Money until he repeatedly left freestyles recording on Baby's answering machine. At the tender age of 11 years old, Lil Wayne at last got his shot to sign up with Cash Money, being the Records' youngest rapper. A year after signing the contract, Lil Wayne caught in an incident that almost took his life. He accidentally shot himself in chest with his stepfather gun, putting him on life support for two weeks.
Recovering from his incident, Lil Wayne marched on to welcome his first gig, in which he was hooked up with another newcomer, Lil' Doggie, later more well-known as B.G., to form a rap group "The B.G.'z". With this group, the young rapper only recorded and released one album, "True Story" (1995), which did not sell as expected. It was during this time that he was forced to dropped out of 10th grade, had a daughter, Reginae Carter, with high school sweetheart, Antonia, and was not allowed to meet Baby again. However, things quickly change for the better after his stepfather passed away in early 1997. Getting permission to work with Baby once more, he left his unsuccessful stories behind and then embarked to form a new group, called "The Hot Boys", with Juvenile, Turk, and B.G in 1997. Quickly, he and his group went on recording their notable debut album "Get It How You Live" (1997) followed by "Guerilla Warfare" (1999), both albums earned them mild fame throughout the South and Midwest. Despite the fact that the group was considerably successful, Lil Wayne and his friends officially went on their separate ways in 2001.
Though Lil Wayne had been known in several states by 1999, it wasn't until he released his solo debut, "Tha Block Is Hot" (1999), that he really got his big break, being known all over the States. His solo album peaked at number three on Billboard's album chart and at number one on Billboard Top R'n'B/Hip-Hop Albums, while at the
same time scored him a nomination for 2000 Source Award for New Artist of the Year, Solo. In the years to follow, the rapper who was originated from the 17th Ward of New Orleans released "Lights Out" (2000) and "500 Degreez" (2002), both failed to match the success of his seminal debut, receiving only gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His "500 Degreez" album got its name from Juvenile's multi-platinum album "400 Degreez" (1998). It was supposed to be the album that beat the sales record of Juvenile's, who left Cash Money earlier. However, the sales of the album proved to be disappointing, selling only 536,000 copies in U.S. and 900,000 copies worldwide.
In June 2004, this young American artist released his most recognized album yet, "Tha Carter" that peaked at number five on Billboard 200, and at number two on Billboard Top R'n'B/Hip-Hop Albums. Around this time, he collaborated with Destiny's Child and T.I. for the noteworthy Destiny's Child's song "Soldier", earning him prominent nominations, naming some were 2005 BET Award-Best Collaboration and 2006 Grammy Award-Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Following the accomplishment of album "Tha Carter" and collaboration single "Soldier", he released "Tha Carter II" (2005) that debuted at number two on Billboard's album chart while its lead single "Fireman" became a hit peaking at number 32 on Billboard Hot 100. Once again, the rapper that is famous for the red bandanna tied on his right arm or leg received positive reviews and gathered notable nomination for the 2006 BET Hip-Hop Award, the 2006 Billboard Music Award and the 2007 BET Award. In the period of 2006 to 2007, he gained more fans by releasing a series of mixtapes, "Dedication" (2006) and "Dedication 2" (2006), whereas in 2007, he recorded another Carter-titled album "Tha Carter III", scheduled to be released on February 12, 2008, and received his first award, the 2007 BET Hip-Hop Award, for MVP of the Year.
